Clash of the Tartans

I've been doing a lot of roller derby logos lately, and this one was special, the fierce woman portrayed in the studies and final image, was the reason for, and beneficiary of the benefit bout 'Clash of the Tartans'. Highland Maim, get well soon!

As usual, it's been ages since my last post. I thought I'd better put something up to appease my fan...love you mom!

Zebras

Inspired by my new position as an NSO (non-skating official), with the Terminal City Roller Girls, and hopeful of one day becoming a skating ref, here are some zebras!

Fun with werewolves!..and other monsters

For Halloween I thought I'd publish some thematically appropriate sketches, and as far as monsters go, werewolves are my favorite!..probably cause they're furry like me, their stories are always tragic, and I love dogs so much!

Raw Meat Logo

My wife was one of a few girls that started a group of would be roller girls, last April-ish, and they called themselves 'Raw Meat', since they were not yet qualified by the local league to be a part of their 'Fresh Meat' program. When talk of organizing their new group started, the obsessive personality she is, my wife had me slave over my hot cintiq through prime sleepy time, til the wee hours around 3-4am. The top, (and ONLY obviously finished), drawing is the logo that now adorns their website, business cards and other promotional materials, while below it lies the first sketch I did upon hearing the name, and the, unrelated, pose study page from which the final 'Raw Meat' pose was taken...I'm still not sure she chose the best option.

3rd wedding anniversary

My wife, Maritza, and I just celebrated our 3rd anniversary, and I hadn't used the watercolours in a while, so I took it as an opportunity to paint her something...besides I love caricaturing our two pups, Muttley and Buttons.
